There was great excitement amongst the residents over the festive season. Residents got involved in decorating the nursing home and their rooms and many told stories of Christmas time of long ago when a lot of hard work went in to making things perfect for Christmas Day.
There was a packed schedule of entertainment over Christmas with visits from the local Comhaltas group, the wonderful Stephanie Power School of Dancing, and the Omna Singers. The students of Portumna Community School also called to sing for the residents.
Regular visitors such as Darren Bourke, Frank and Anne, Colin Kenny, and irrepressible Jim Brophy make extra appearances and they were a source of great enjoyment for the residents.
